Neil NEVER MET A STRANGER

Neil Douglas Reiersgaard was born on September 22, 1962. He passed away on October 19, 2024, after facing a series of ongoing health challenges, including recent complications from diabetes.

Neil was a beloved husband, family member, good friend, and PePaw to his cherished grandson, Leo. He was the life of the party and loved nothing more than getting to know people in a meaningful way. He was truly one of a kind and rarely did anyone who met Neil ever forget him. There was never a lack of things to talk about when sharing time with Neil regardless of the subject. His brilliant wit and sense of humor were unmatched, and he made laughter a part of every conversation. He was a cheerleader for many but was also able to show up in a serious way when someone was in need, as he cared deeply. There will never be another Neil and he will be missed so very much!

Please join us in honoring Neil in the following 3 ways:

1. THE CELEBRATION

On November 16th, 2024, we will be celebrating Neil at an open house at Columbine Country Club. Please feel free to stop by anytime between 1:00pm and 5:00pm for appetizers, assorted desserts, and a cash bar. We look forward to gathering in our common love and appreciation to celebrate the contributions Neil made in so many peoples’ lives. Dress is casual, as Neil wouldn’t have it any other way.

The address of Columbine Country Club is: 17 Fairway Lane, Littleton, Co 80123. (Note: There will be club staff in the parking area to point everyone in the right direction.)

2. THE MEMORIES

In lieu of flowers, donations or gifts the family would love to request your participation in contributing a favorite story, submitting pictures, or uploading your own personal video recording of a fond memory of Neil.  These contribution to his legacy will be a source of fun, laughter, and joy for many years to come for our family, friends, and his biggest fan, Leo.  Feel free to return anytime to the Memories page to enjoy what we hope others will graciously share.

3. THE stories

Neil truly never met a stranger and was always sincerely interested in learning about people and their lives. He was one of the most gifted listeners and was always happy to give feedback but only when asked. He of course took a special interest in his close friends and was a true confidant. Neil was also a great storyteller and shared his experiences on occasion. He loved guessing games, so we thought it would be fun to test everyone’s knowledge on Neil’s life. We have made a list of 9 items that are true and 1 statement that is false. It is completely optional if you would like to test your knowledge. We will share the false statement at the celebration and post the answer on this website for anyone who is interested or unable to attend.

Thank you for visiting!
